Primary animal to be hunted:?? Alaskan Brown/Grizzly Bear.? This hunt takes place in Game Management Unit (GMU) 13.? Safari Club International (SCI) considers these bears Grizzly Bears for record keeping purposes while Boone and Crockett (B&C) and Pope and Young (P&Y) consider them Brown Bears.? Bears taken in the area can range from 6 ? – 8 ? feet, with 7 to 7 ? feet being typical.
Silvertip and light color phases are common.? Hides are in excellent condition in this location at this time of year.

Hunters should arrive in Anchorage, Alaska in sufficient time to rent a car and be at the below described pick-up location on the ___ ?of May ___ ?by mid-afternoon or sooner.? Eight (8) hours should be allotted to drive from Anchorage,? Alaska to the pick-up location on the Denali Highway.
Cost and payment schedule:? This is a special promotional hunt.? The hunt will be for Alaska Brown/Grizzly Bear at a flat rate of $7,000.00 per hunter based on two (2) hunters for one (1) guide.? Full payment will be in advance since this is a discounted hunt (approximately ? price).? One-on-one guided hunts are available at $9000.00
Trophy Fees, licenses and tags:? Clients are responsible for Alaska hunting licenses and tags.? The non-resident hunting license is $85.00.? The Alaska Brown/Grizzly Bear tag is $500.00 per person. ??Licenses and tags may be purchased in Anchorage at Sportsman?s Warehouse, Wal-Mart or Fred Meyer.?
Transportation:? Clients are responsible for transportation to Anchorage, Alaska and return.? Normally there will be one night in Anchorage before the hunt and one night after the hunt.? The client is responsible for hotel accommodations for those nights.? We highly recommend a room at The Millenium Hotel, Telephone (907) 243-2300.? Shuttle service is provided to and from the Anchorage airport.? Clients are responsible for transportation to a pick-up point on the Denali Highway and are required to rent a car for the duration of the hunt.
Pick-up Location/Directions:? Clients will rent a car and drive northeast on the Glenn Highway (Hwy 1) towards Palmer, Alaska.? Turn left in approximately 40 miles on the Parks Highway (Hwy 3) going to Wasilla.? Drive north through Wasilla for approximately 160 miles to Cantwell, Alaska.? Turn right (east) on the Denali Highway (Hwy 8) and drive approximately 55 miles to the pick-up location.? Do not pass up gas stations as they are sparse.? Keep your tank full. Highways are clearly marked.? The pick-up location will be flagged with surveyors tape on the left side of the road.? If you reach the bridge at the Susitna River, (1/2 mile wide) you went 600 yards too far.? The airstrip is across the road from the parking area.?
Services Provided:? ATH will provide lodging and meals while in camp.? Camps are tent camps with cots and pads provided.?? Three basic meals per day are provided by the guide (No gourmet chefs are available).?? Tents are warm and dry.? ?ATH will provide field trophy care to include skinning and salting of bear hides.? Clients are responsible for costs incurred for shipping trophies to the destination of their choice.? Occasionally a ?die-hard? local hunter may access our area, which is legal and causes no problems, but the potential to see other hunters, while not probable, does exist.
Hunting Equipment and Gear:? Hunters should travel as light as possible to accommodate transportation via Piper Supercub to the camp site. ?Also, several small bags are preferred over one large bag.? You can rearrange gear when you arrive at base camp. ?A gear list is available at the above website.? Standing shots are common so shooting sticks are recommended.? Light hip boots are recommended as well to accommodate stream crossings.
Clients per guide:? For this special hunt, each guide will take two clients, allowing clients to fully participate in the hunt of their hunting partner unless a one-on-one guided hunt is booked.
